CMCE aims to share academic research and practitioner experience to the benefit of the consulting community. One of the ways in which we do this is to identify academic papers relating to management consulting which receive a CMCE Research Award.
At 6pm on Thursday 17 October we announced the winners of the biennial CMCE Research Awards in the following categories:
Client-consultant relationships
'Pandemic consulting. How private consultants leverage public crisis management', authored by Anne Vogelpohl, Chris Hurl, Michael Howard, Uttara Purandare, Reut Marciano and Andrew Sturdy;
Technology and consulting
'Organizational Implementation of AI: Craft and Mechanical Work', authored by Konstantin Hopf, Oliver Müller, Arisa Shollo and Tiemo Thiess;
Developing management consulting skills
'A Competency Framework for Training of AI Projects Managers in the Digital and AI Era', authored by Valéry Psyché, Diane-Gabrielle Tremblay, Fatma Miladi and Amina Yagoubi.
Urwick Prize
The Urwick Prize for the best overall paper was awarded to 'Organizational Implementation of AI: Craft and Mechanical Work', by Konstantin Hopf, Oliver Müller, Arisa Shollo and Tiemo Thiess.
The awards were introduced by Tom Morley, who shared his thoughts on “the energy of collaboration”. Tom is literally a rock star presenter. He was the original drummer of the 1980s band Scritti Politti and now works with a range of organisations to build strong and solid teams. His clients include Hertz, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, UBS and Vodafone.
